Why do I feel like this?

These are the biological causes for your emotions. When your biological needs of feeling safe, certain and considered are not met, your nervous system detects this as a threat. This section will help you identify what biological need is not being met within you.

What data you really need to go from survive → thrive

HOW MUCH:
This is your SAF dial. The intensity of your emotional signals correlates directly with the amount of cortisol your brain is using in that moment. Cortisol will shut down your pre-frontal cortex function and emotional regulation when it gets high enough. You need to be very aware of this at all times.
WHAT:
You need to know what you feel by finding your self-noticed and directed emotional signals.
WHY:
Why your emotional signals have been produced is dependent on whether your 3 biological needs of feeling physically safe, certain, and considered are being met or unmet at any given time. The context is not the cause of your emotions or an excuse for any behaviour. The context is ALWAYS just an influencing factor. Focusing or blaming the context for your emotion/s and/or behaviour will drive you away from feeling in control. Your biological needs being met or unmet are the cause. You can change this when you become aware of it and restore your sense of feeling in control.
WHAT:
What action YOU choose to do in response to your signals: opt in or opt out. The choice you make MUST be based on your nervous system signals, not your thoughts or external influences. The choice you make is what builds your self-trust, self-confidence, self-agency, resilience and independence.
